Dr. Mohammad Al-Ubaydli

Mohammad is founder and CEO of Patients Know Best. He trained as a physician at the University of Cambridge; worked as a staff scientist at the National Institutes of Health; and was a management consultant to US hospitals at The Advisory Board Company. Mohammad is the author of seven books, including Personal health records: A guide for clinicians and Streamlining Hospital-Patient Communication: Developing High Impact Patient Portals. In 2012, he was elected an Ashoka Fellow as a social entrepreneur for the contributions he has made to patient care.

Dr. Tareq Abu Hamed

Dr. Tareq Abu Hamed is the Executive Director of the Arava Institute for Environmental Studies. A recognized leader in renewable energy technology and regional cooperation, he launched and led the Institute’s Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation and served as the Institute’s Academic Director. One of the leaders of Israeli President Herzog’s Climate Forum, co-chairing the task force on Regional Cooperation and Security, he is the recipient of the 2024 American Association for the Advancement of Science’s David and Betty Hamburg Award for Science Diplomacy.

Named one of “48 Israelis shaping Israel and the world, today and into the future” by Israel 21c in April 2023, Dr. Abu Hamed first joined the Arava Institute in 2008, when he established the Arava Institute’s Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation. He left the Institute in 2013 to become the Israeli Ministry of Science’s Deputy Chief Scientist, and later the Acting Chief Scientist, the highest ranking Palestinian in the Israeli government at that time. He returned to the Arava Institute in 2016. Today, he is recognized as a leader in regional environmental diplomacy and a sought-after speaker at international convenings including most recently the United Nations COP28.

Dr. Abu Hamed holds a Bachelor and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Gazi University (Turkey), and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Ankara University (Turkey). He has completed two terms of postdoctoral research, one at the Environmental Science and Energy Research Department of the Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel), and the second at the University of Minnesota’s Mechanical Engineering Department Solar Energy Lab. He also holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Hebrew University.

Mustafa Oğuz

Mustafa Oğuz is an Istanbul-based business consultant specialized in political risk, corporate affairs and policy & strategy development.

He received his BA degree in International Relations from Istanbul Beylent University in 2003 and graduate degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Sabancı University (İstanbul) in 2005. He was a visiting researcher at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies (BESA Center) at Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv, Israel, in the 2005-2006 academic year.

He completed his military service at the Turkish General Staff in June 2007 and started worked at the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEIK). During this duty, he has been in charge of speech writing, policy and strategy development. He served in technical committees of national organizations such as the Investment Environment Improvement Coordination Board (YOİKK) of Türkiye and international organizations such as the Organization of Turkic States. Within the Board, he served as the director of DEIK Business Councils on regulated issues such as health, education, logistics, energy, and consultancy services.

In addition to his duties at DEIK, he served as the special advisor to Minister of Commerce of Türkiye in 2018-2019. Additionally, he was the youngest member of the Istanbul Development Agency Development Board between 2014-2017 and is a member of the advisory board of Istanbul Aydın University Chinese Studies Center and African Studies Center.

Since October 2019, he is managing his consulting firm based in Istanbul.

Wydiane Djaidi

Wydiane Djaidi is a Moroccan lawyer, born and raised in Casablanca. She is specialized in international public law and international business law and has several years of experience working for the United Nations (UN). She is admitted to the Casablanca Bar Association and holds a Master of Laws in International Business Law at the University of Brussels (ULB) and a Master of Laws in International Public Law and Transnational Crimes at the University for Peace (university mandated by the United Nations).

Wydiane has worked for the United Nations for several years in Turin (Italy) and in the UN headquarters in Vienna (Austria), where she worked on international law and transnational criminal matters. While working at the UN headquarters in Vienna, her work mainly focused on working with governments and other relevant stakeholders for the implementation of the UN Convention against transnational organized crimes (Palermo Convention). Wydiane also supported the elaboration of several UN reports that are currently publicly available, including the UN toolkit to support member states in the elaboration of high impact strategies against organized crime.

Wydiane recently moved back to the Kingdom of Morocco and is currently practicing as a lawyer as part of Dilar Lakhelifi Law firm, a law firm with over 30 years of presence in Casablanca. Her work in the firm focuses, among others, on business law and international law matters.

Wydiane is fluent in Arabic, French and English and has also a basic knowledge of Italian and Spanish.

She is the author of Regulating Islam: Religion and the State in Morocco and Tunisia (Cambridge University Press, 2018), as well as numerous policy papers and articles which have appeared in The National Interest, Foreign Affairs, Politico, and elsewhere. Dr. Feuer has lived in Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, and now Israel. Since 2020, she has been advising companies and organizations in Israel and the Arab world on joint business and investment opportunities.

Faisal Marjani

In all these capacities, Mr. Marjani conducts and participates in several research projects on Moroccan Judaism and the history of Moroccan Diplomacy. Through all these networks, he created communications strategies and work plans, and coordinated major events which led him to work with varied population in different parts of the world. Mr. Marjani holds a Master degree in Journalism from the ESP in Paris, France and a Master degree in Political Science and International Relations from Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco.

He was decorated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in 2014 as a civil society actor and expert in several international research centers.

Goshan Mohammed Karadaghi

Goshan mohammed karadaghi is a global health, public health, education and gender specialist situated in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. She obtained a Masters in Gobal Health and Development from University College London. She is a lecturer at the American university of Iraq, Sulaimani in the medical sciences department, where she has served for 7 years, before which she taught at the Sulaimani university School of medicine within the department of family and community medicine. She is also serving on the scientific board of the Kurdistan Health Summit, an organization designed to create platforms for discussion of pressing health concerns within the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the wider Middle East, for the purpose of developing policy to encourage health development.

Goshan’s specific areas of interest include health and development, public health, bioethics, medical anthropology, gender and youth engagement.

She has worked on development and capacity building amount Iraq and Kurdistan in partnership with UN agencies and NGOs. Her research interests lie in medical anthropology, public health, health development and gender.
