Eli Bar-On

Eli Bar-On is the CEO and Head of the Executive Committee of MENA2050. He served in various senior legal positions in the Israeli government. He was also a professor at the Israel National Defense College, with a focus on matters of national security, strategy, and international relations.
Eli has provided expert presentations to high-level delegations throughout the world. He also led strategic international dialogues and lectured at preeminent academic institutions around the world.
Upon his retirement as a civil servant, Eli co-founded and was the CEO of a start-up company dealing with wireless optical communication.
Eli has a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree and an Executive Master of Business Administration (E.M.B.A.) degree (cum laude) from Tel Aviv University and a Master’s degree in Political Science (M.A.) (cum laude) from Haifa University.

Sarah Awaidah

Sarah Awaidah serves as the Chief Operations Director of MENA2050 and is a member of the Executive Committee, driving operational excellence and promoting regional cooperation. As the co-founder of MENA Aid, she led a coalition of 21 organizations, providing crucial assistance during the Turkey and North Syria Earthquake and extending support to the Moroccan Earthquake and the Flood in Libya. Concurrently managing the Hiwar joint project with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and Tel Aviv University, Sarah facilitates critical discussions. Her expertise includes conflict transformation and studying the impact of World War II at Friedrich-Schiller University in Jena, Germany. Committed to breaking barriers, Sarah founded a language school offering courses in spoken Hebrew, English, and Arabic. Additionally, she operates a consultancy specializing in expert proposal writing. Notably, Sarah is an entrepreneur, managing her own business in Palestine.

Former director of Al-Karameh National Empowerment Fund, a government body that regulates and fine-tunes Palestinian consumer behavior so that it contributes towards building an economy that can uphold a future state. Also the former director of Prosper Palestine, an international initiative that worked to promote Palestine economically.
Holds a PHD in conflict management from Coventry University, and an MA in international studies from the same University.
