Saud is a Brigadier-General (Ret) from the Jordanian General Intelligence Directorate (GID). He also served as the National Policy Council (NPC) of Jordan (2012-2015).He is the Founder and director of the Shorufat Center for Globalization and Terrorism Studies in Amman and Founder of the Terrorism Index in Jordan (TIJ).
As a dedicated leader in Intelligence analysis and operations, he brings over thirty years of experience in intelligence operations and international security cooperation. Currently, he serves as director of the Shorufat Center for Globalization and Terrorism Studies, overseeing and continuing to expand the understanding of globalization and global security issues. His expertise and research interests include globalization, terrorism, intelligence studies, intelligence analysis, intelligence gathering (OSINT), counter-terrorism, online radicalization, securitization, political islam, Middle East politics, Jordanian affairs, border management, and international conflict (mostly in the Arab-Israeli context).
With a strong intelligence background, including leadership roles in the Jordanian General Intelligence Directorate, he specializes in strategic operations and planning, security cooperation, and border management. He is a trainer for national security agencies, law enforcement authorities, and military counter-terrorism units.
His academic work is mostly published in Arabic in top outlets and journals, and he is currently deeply involved in mentoring the next generation of specialists in national security, security cooperation, and intelligence studies, and linking them to the needs of the country’s institutions and global markets.
