The India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) is among the most important and potentially transformational strategic projects of the 21st century.

Designed as a multimodal, multi-segment intercontinental artery and network of corridors and gateways, it has the potential to strengthen economic security and boost trade; set new engineering and technological frontiers and standards; advance new energy and digital solutions; foster employment, cultural exchanges, regional integration and inter-regional cooperation; and ultimately, enhance stability, shared sustainable prosperity, and peaceful coexistence.

MENA2050 commits to acting where it has strengths and legitimacy, including:

• Advancing applied policy work and feasibility thinking on IMEC-related projects

• Convening dialogue among governments, experts, private sector actors, and civil society

• Promoting inclusive participation, and post-conflict economic integration

• Supporting digital approaches that reduce risk and accelerate cooperation

• Developing pilot concepts that can later be adopted, scaled, or financed by public and private actors”

MENA2050 is dedicated to helping ensure that IMEC’s strategic opportunity is not missed. 

Accordingly, we established an IMEC Task Force to coordinate strategic thinking and analysis, initiatives, events, and advocacy.

The IMEC Task Force will mobilize MENA2050’s influential membership base and its remarkable international network of partners and stakeholders to support the ambitious implementation of the IMEC.
